Planning Paint Jobs Saves the Environment

At The Definitive Decorating Co the use of environmentally preferred paints and technologies forms part of our commitment to ‘green painting’, but is only part of the solution to a more sustainable way of working and caring for our environment.

Before painting works commence we ensure a detailed painting plan is in place which includes the goals to be achieved and a description of the means for achieving them. Poorly planned paint projects often result in over purchasing of paint, thus increasing paint disposal into the environment. Where feasible, we opt to use a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and durable paint to minimise VOC emissions and resources spent on upkeep. If the project area contains hazardous lead based paint, it is important to employ the correct precautions in removal/disposal, such as the use of a ‘HEPA’ vacuum cleaner to capture lead particles. Safety equipment such as dust masks, goggles, gloves and protective clothing must always be worn. Taking the correct precautions and employing the right procedures from the outset, will not only benefit the environment, but also your budget.

  • Clean air formula
  • Safer technology
